Midterm Review of CARE Program - YDC School Company Partnership

The School-Company Partnership (SCP) programme has been kicked off on 7 March 2009. 18 Company Ambassadors from the HKUST Alumni Association were divided into 6 teams and each team was assigned to a secondary school.

The theme of this programme is 'Entrepreneurial Spirit'. It aims at fostering the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, which include commitment, innovation, integrity and being visionary, in young people.

"I am assigned to a secondary school affiliated to Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education. Most of the students are studying hospitality. In fact, students joining this programme are mainly studying Hospitality. It is my pleasure to have my friend Laurence Lai, a famous landscape photographer, sharing his experience in entrepreneurship in one of the classes. The feedback is very positive", Ronny Hui, Deputy President of HKUSTAA.

A progress review will be held on 16 April 2009. All Company Ambassadors should have already received the invitation from YDC. We are looking forward to seeing you in the session.

HKUST Alumni Confluence Dinner Spring 2009

The HKUST Alumni Association and the HKUST Student Affairs Office jointly organize the HKUST Alumni Confluence Dinner Spring 2009. We cordially invite all enthusiastic alumni from various business sectors to participate.

The Confluence Dinner consists of a live chat between alumni and a prestigious guest speaker as well as a buffet style dinner. Its aim is to inculcate into the minds of students that readiness to communicate with people they do not know before in a social setting will enlarge their social network and expand their outlook in life. This sharing can broaden students' breadth of interests and strengthen their interpersonal skills.

This time, we will be focusing on the survival guide in this era of change.

You have an important role! Your HKUST and business experience will be acting as a bridge between students and the guest speaker to encourage and facilitate the communication. It is crucial to the success of the dinner!

HKUSTAA is at its rapid growth and development stage. Many projects have been innovated and launched within the last few months. These projects have definitely brought impact to the Alumni Association, HKUST itself as well as the society. Further to previous successful experiences and for the benefit of the Association & fellow Alumni as a whole, we wish to invite Alumni to become Program Directors of projects of their interests.
